Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today expressed his displeasure over the Centre "ignoring" the North East while sanctioning cold chains for 30 places across the country recently.
"The North East has been blatantly ignored," Gogoi said in a release referring to the decision where the Centre has sanctioned 30 new cold chains under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
The chief minister said Assam was bestowed with rich natural resources and had potential for food processing, but farmers failed to get optimum post harvest benefits due to inadequate cold storage facilities.
