Gogoi for free medical treatment to BPL people

The Assam Health Department has been asked by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to submit a proposal for free medical treatment to persons below the poverty line to be included in the upcoming state budget.

The Chief Minister wanted the medical treatment to be completely free of cost for the people below the BPL.

Gogoi further asked the department to make a proposal for providing medical treatment to poor and needy students and children free of cost, the Chief Minister Office said.
