Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today ordered an inquiry by the Chief Secretray into the incident of a farmer suicide in the first week of September in Nalbari district.
According to an official release, Gogoi asked Chief Secretary Vinod Kumar Pipersenia to find out the reasons behind the suicide of Dibakar Kalita of Tihu area. Gogoi also said the farmers can directly contact the Deputy Commissioners if they face any problem.
The Chief Minister further directed all the DCs to resolve farmers' issues immediately.

If the productivity of the farmers do not increase, the economy of the state will not grow, he added.
