Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today reviewed the scenario with Power Minister Pradyut Bordoloi and senior officials of the APDCL here.
Gogoi underscored the need to improve the power scenario by completing the projects under various stages of progress.
The mmeeting with Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL) officials here discussed the modernisation of Lakwa thermal power project to make it more viable and cost- effective, said a spokesman of the Chief Minister Office.

The 750 MW Bongaigaon thermal power plant now being revived by the National Thermal Power Corporation also figured in the discussion, the spokesman said.
The Rs 4,750-crore project is power generator NTPC Ltd's maiden North-Eastern venture, he said.
The progress of the project has been severely hit by a host of issues including frequent bandhs, mass exodus of workforce, heavy monsoon and slow progress of civil works by contractors, the CMO said.
Gogoi in a recent meeting had directed Home and Political Principal Secretary MGVK Bhanu to visit the project site and ensure full mobilisation of agencies, including security.
The government has also taken up the 6-MW Lungnit and 9-MW Myntriang small hydel projects.
Gogoi in the meeting said the department should not bank heavily on the State's sustenance but to generate revenue on its own.
The Power Minister stressed on revenue realisation by the department to keep the cash registers tinkling.
Today's meeting was attended, among others, by Finance Additional Chief Secretary H S Das, APDCL Chairman and Planning and Development Principal Secretary EV Eapen, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Jishnu Barua and Power Commissioner and Secretary Anurag Goel.
