Gold bars weighing two kg and worth Rs 54 lakh have been seized at the international terminal of nearby Karipur airport, air customs Intelligence officials said today.
The abandoned packet containing two gold bars, weighing one kg each, was found by the cleaning staff near the escalator of the terminal last night, the officials said.
They suspected that the smugglers must have left the packet behind due to tight security inside the airport.
