The Border Security Force today arrested a person after seizing 10 gold biscuits in Gaighata in North 24-Parganas district, a government release today said.
Acting on a tip-off, troops of the BSF launched a special operation and near the Bangladesh border and seized 10 gold biscuits, weighing approximately 1.16 kg worth Rs 29,52,200, wrapped in a plastic tape from Nirpen Roy (38), the release said.
The accused has been handed over to the Gaighata police and the seized gold has been handed over to local Customs Officer, Bongaon.

The staff is an employee of a private agency carrying out the ground handling services at the airport, the senior DRI Officer said.
"This is yet another case where the personnel employed with the agencies functioning at the airport have been found to be involved in the smuggling of gold," Singh said, adding further investigations are on.
