Gold biscuits worth Rs 1.2 crore were recovered and four smugglers were arrested from inside a train by the Railway Protection Force at Dimapur Railway station.
"Railway Protection Force personnel during routine checking of train number 15960 DN Kamrup Express at Dimapur railway station on August 26, managed to arrest a gang of inter-state gold smugglers," an official release said today.
The gang included two women and all were from Manipur.
"Twenty six gold biscuits weighting about 4.33 kg valued at about Rs 1.2 crore were seized by the RPF personnel with the help of GRP, Dimapur," the release added.
