Gold biscuits worth Rs 3 lakh were found abandoned by a CISF jawan at the Chennai international airport today.
Central Industrial Security Force constable Ravichandran spotted a suspicious packet lying abandoned in the terminal area and alerted his superiors.
"The trooper will be suitably rewarded for his alertness. We will hand over the seized items to Customs authorities," CISF Additional Director General (Airports) in Delhi O P Singh told PTI.
Upon checking, the packet was found containing 300gms of gold biscuits, which security officials suspect would have been discarded by someone for fear of being caught.
