Amid weak global cues, gold prices were down 0.39 per cent to Rs 26,378 per ten grams in futures trade in evening session today as participants trimmed their positions.

The exchange opened for the evening session as it remained closed in the morning for 'Ganesh Chaturthi'.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in December fell Rs 103, or 0.39 per cent to Rs 26,378 per ten grams in a business turnover of 25 lots.

On similar lines, the yellow metal for delivery in October moved down by Rs 101, or 0.38 per cent to Rs 26,190 per ten grams in 517 lots.

Analysts attributed the weakness in gold futures to a sluggish trend overseas before a key Federal Reserve decision on rates later in the day.

Meanwhile, gold slipped 0.1 per cent to USD 1,118.37 an ounce in London.
