Gold futures drop marginally on weak global cues

Gold futures on Monday fell 0.05 per cent to Rs 45,789 per 10 gram as participants offloaded their holdings following weak trend overseas.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold prices for June delivery fell by Rs 23, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 45,789 per 10 gram in a business turnover of 13,268 lots.

The yellow metal for August delivery declined by Rs 49, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 45,008 per 10 gram in 7,259 lots.

In New York, gold was trading 0.42 per cent down at USD 1,706.70 per ounce.
