Gold futures fall 0.23 per cent on global cues

Gold prices fell by 0.23 per cent to Rs 29,145 per ten gram in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in April fell by Rs 67, or 0.23 per cent to Rs 29,145 per ten gram in business turnover of 217 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in February traded lower by Rs 60, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 28,548 per 10 grams in eight lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in gold futures to weak global trend.

Meanwhile, gold fell 0.3 per cent to USD 1,249.31 an ounce in London.
