Gold futures fall on profit booking

Gold prices dipped to Rs 39,160 per 10 gram in futures trade on Thursday as speculators reduced exposure.

Offloading of positions by participants to book profits influenced gold prices at futures trade here, analysts said.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for October delivery fell by Rs 5, or 0.01 per cent, to Rs 39,160 per 10 gram in a business turnover of 17,505 lots.

Globally, the yellow metal traded 0.10 per cent lower at USD 1,538.20 per ounce in New York.
