Gold futures traded lower by Rs 63 at Rs 37,660 per 10 gram on Tuesday as participants reduced positions in tandem with decline in prices of the precious metal overseas.

Gold contracts for December delivery traded lower by Rs 63, or 0.17 per cent, at Rs 37,660 per 10 gm in 1,713 lots.

Similarly, gold for delivery in February next year fell by Rs 68, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 37,724 per 10 gram in 405 lots.

Globally, gold prices fell 0.09 per cent to USD 1,462.50 an ounce in New York. PTI

Analysts attributed the fall in prices to trimming of positions by investors tracking a sluggish trend in global market.
