Gold prices were up by Rs 95 to Rs 30,061 per 10 grams in futures trade today as speculators created positions even as metal weakened overseas after the US Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in far-month April moved up by Rs 95, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 30,061 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 131 lots.

The metal for delivery in February was trading higher by Rs 67, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 30,184 per 10 grams in a turnover of 12 lots.

Analysts said widening of bets by participants pushed up gold prices in futures market there but weak cues from global markets, restricted the gains.

Meanwhile, gold shed 0.04 per cent to USD 1,344.40 an ounce in Singapore today.
