Gold worth Rs 14 lakh and USD 7,500 were seized in different cases at the airport here over the past two days, officials said today.
Customs officials, on a tip-off, intercepted a 24-year-old man who arrived from Riyadh yesterday and seized 463 grams of gold from him, a customs release said.
The passenger had concealed the gold in a gas stove that was inside his baggage, it said.
Officials cut open the stove and recovered the gold.
In the second incident, officials recovered USD 7,500 worth Rs 5 lakh in Indian currency from a 39-year-old passenger bound for Hong Kong from here on June 21, it added.
