Two passengers who arrived here early today in separate flights from Dubai and Doha were arrested by Customs officials and 1342.95 grams of gold valued at Rs 39.3 lakh seized from them.
The two had not made any declaration in the newly introduced Customs Declaration Forms, customs sources said.
A passenger, P Abdulla Abdulrahman, arrived from Dubai by a SpiceJet flight at 12.40 AM, and on examination of his luggage revealed 72.75 grams of gold concealed in the form of wires rolled in a 'Popcorn Maker' while another 180.90 grams was found inside an electric razor in the form of small bits.

The total recovery of gold from him was 553.65 grams, valued at Rs 16.20 lakh, customs officials said.
Another passenger Kunnummal Fareed, arrived from Doha in a Jet Airways flight around 4 AM and a search of his baggage revealed a 789.30 gram square gold block concealed inside a voltage convertor. It was valued at Rs 23.10 lakh.
Both passengers have been arrested, they said.
