About 50 gold coins weighing 398.5 grams, valued about 10 lakh, were seized from a passenger at Sri Guru Ramdas International Airport here, customs official said today.
Akash Verma arrived from Dubai and was screened, whereupon 50 gold coins concealed in his rectum were found, Customs Commissioner Sanjay Gahlot said.
Verma is a resident of Hoshiarpur district of Punjab, said Gahlot, adding the coins were wrapped in carbon paper and concealed in the rectum. The coins were traced out by the security staff of customs at the Airport.
