Gold worth Rs 2 crore seized from two air passengers

Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) today said it seized 7.7 kg gold valued at over Rs 2 crore from two passengers who arrived at the airport here from Dubai.

The duo, whose names were not revealed, tried to smuggle the gold by concealing it in an electric iron box and in a suitcase, a DRI release said here.

The value of the seized metal is estimated to be Rs 2.17 crore, it said, adding an investigation was on.
