'Gone Girl' to release in India on Diwali

Ben Affleck starrer 'Gone Girl' will release in India on Diwali along with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Happy New Year'.

The film, directed by David Fincher of 'The Social Network' fame, stars Affleck and Rosamund Pike is an adaptation of Gillian Flynn's popular novel by the same name.

'Gone Girl' released worldwide on October 3 and has been riding on tremendously positive reviews from critics.

"The level of interest for 'Gone Girl' in India is very high, given Ben Affleck's popularity and David Fincher's credibility with films like 'The Social Network' and 'The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button'. Even the book is extremely popular in India, and we're very proud to present the film in India as Fincher has envisaged it," said Vijay singh, CEO, Fox star studios.
 

The film traces the story of an out-of-work journalist Nick Dunne, whose wife Amy goes missing on their fifth wedding anniversary.

Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick's portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble.
