"Good roads enhance economic activities and make areas accessible to all round development," the chief minister said.
While reviewing the progress of works under roads and bridges sector in his constituency at a meeting in Ganderbal yesterday, Omar directed officials to ensure timely completion of works and judicious expenditure of funds.
The Chief Minister said the importance of better road connectivity and linking of remote areas with main highways was an important ingredient for socio-economic upliftment of people.
He also inspected progress of work of Cheki Yongoora-Baba Saleh road and received appraisal of schemes, construction of roads and bridges in Roads and Buildings sector.
Omar also reviewed the projects being executed by Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) in Ganderbal constituency of central Kashmir.
