India's Aditi Ashok got off to a steady start with two-under 70 following three birdies on the back in the first round of the CP Women's Open here.
Aditi opened with a string of pars before her first bogey on ninth. On the back nine she birdied 10th, 11th and 18th to finish at tied 30th.
Aditi, who is still searching for her first Top-10 of the season, is currently 88th on the CME Globe rankings on the LPGA Tour.
She will be looking to move up higher to ensure her place in the CME Group Tour Championships, which she has played in the last two years. This year Aditi's best has been tied 18 in Arkansas.
Annie Park shot a 7-under 65 to take a one-stroke lead in the opening round and she could make a strong claim to get into the American Solheim Cup with a strong showing this week. Park hit 15 greens in regulation and eagled the par-5 ninth.
Defending champion Brooke Henderson and fellow Canadian Anne-Catherine Tanguay were one shot back along with top-ranked Jin Young Ko, Pajaree Anannarukarn and Nicole Broch Larsen.
