Goods loadings go up by over 4 pc

Railways have transported 171.91 million tonnes (MT) goods during April-May, marking a 4.58 per cent increase over the corresponding period last year.

The freight traffic was 164.38 MT during the same period last year, 7.53 MT less than this year, an official release said today.

During May, the freight carried by Railways was 88.19 MT, an increase of 4.06 MT over the freight of 84.13 MT carried during the same period last year - a 4.83 per cent rise.
