Goods train catches fire in Andhra Pradesh

A coal-laden goods train which was going to Visakhapatnam from Odisha today caught fire, police said.

Following the incident this morning, railway traffic was disrupted for some time. Fire erupted in one of the wagon of a goods train carrying coal, Parvathipuram town police station Sub-Inspector B Surendra Naidu said.

The incident came to light after the train halted near the Parvathipuram railway station, he said.

Fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot and fire was doused, the officer said, adding the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
