A goods train carrying rice derailed between Lower Haflong and Bagetar railway station in Dima Hasao district of Assam today, railway sources said.
The train was moving towards Badarpur when the four front trolley (wheel of engine) derailed and two bogies fell down caused 200 metre of rail track to be damaged at '110 KM' area but there was no report of any injury, the sources said..
Train movement on the meter gauge track in the hill section has been halted with passenger train Dn Barak Valley Express returned to Lumding and Up Barak Valley Express controlled at Badrpur Junction, railway sources said.
Railway officials have rushed to the spot to reinstall the damaged rail track, the sources said.
