The guard of a goods train died after he was struck by a wheel trolley at Belur this morning, Eastern Railway sources said.
"S Jadav, on-duty guard of a goods train died being badly pasted by wheel trolley at Belur receiving line at 6.55 AM today," a ER statement said.
Doctor and ambulance, road crane and break-van reached the site, immediately, but he could not be saved, it said, adding that the doctor declared Jadav dead at 7.10 AM.
An enquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the incident, the statement said.
