Delhi Minister Gopal Rai today said the government will organise a one-day national conference of Construction Labour Board tomorrow against the Centre's decision to allegedly "snatch" powers of the board.
Addressing a press conference here, Rai alleged that the central government "snatched" the powers of Construction Labour Board in every state to appoint their chairman.
Participants will discuss the welfare policies, schemes and best practices of various states/UTs in respect of construction workers at the conference.

"Secretaries of Construction Boards of all the states/UTs along with worker representatives have been invited to this national conference to share their experiences and also difficulties faced by them with possible solutions," the Delhi Labour Minister said.
He said the secretaries of the boards of various states - Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Goa, J&K, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Sikkim, Puducherry, Mizoram, Odisha, Manipur and Tripura among others - will be participating in the event.
