A detailed report on the infrastructure and medical facilities at the BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur, where at least 30 children died last month, was today placed before the Allahabad High Court.

The report was placed before a Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosle and Justice M K Gupta in a sealed envelope by the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority.

The court had on August 31 asked the Authority's secretary to submit a detailed report, along with photographs of various wards, after visiting the hospital.

The order was passed on a PIL filed by Suneeta Sharma and others who had sought a judicial enquiry into the deaths of more than 30 children at the hospital, within a span of 48 hours, in the second week of August.

The matter has now been fixed for further hearing on October 18.
