Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma has exhorted the officials to be open to new ideas and innovative ways to meet the challenges posed by changing trends in administration and governance.
Addressing a review meeting on developmental activities and law and order scenario here yesterday, the governor advised officials to ensure that projects are implemented within prescribed time frame, a Raj Bhawan communique said here today.
Stating that the state has a small and manageable population with tremendous opportunities of development, the governor stressed on the need to formulate ways and means to harness the opportunities through the best possible methods.

He also expressed concern on the low literacy rate in the state, particularly the female, and stressed on quality teachers and accommodation for them, especially for those who are serving in interior areas.
Arunachal being an agrarian state, the governor emphasised on organic farming, double cropping and using latest technologies in agriculture and horticulture activities.
While calling for protection of the forests, the governor advised the officers of Environment and Forests department to involve all stakeholders at community level in preservation efforts, sources added.
