Kerala government today said that it has not brought back its people from war hit Yemen with the offer of government jobs.
The State and the Centre took steps to bring the stranded people from India when the situation in Yemen turned dangerous and a threat to their lives, State Minister for Non-Resident Keralites' Affairs (NORKA) K C Joseph said in a statement here.
A total of 2,437 Keralites including several nurses, have returned from Yemen and it was difficult to find jobs for all these people, he said, adding only through Public Service Commission, the government can provide jobs.

Some NRKs have expressed readiness to provide jobs in their institutions, he pointed out. All returnees should register their names with the NORKA office, he said.
Joseph also said it was very unfortunate that certain political parties were leading agitation demanding jobs for Yemen returnees. "The attempt was only to cheap political gains," he said.
