Governor gives away Mahatma Gandhi Shantata Puraskar awards

Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao awarded Mahatma Gandhi Shantata Puraskar to 18 senior police officers, eminent Muslim leaders and social workers, at a function held at the Sahyadri State Guest House here today.

The award, instituted by the Maharashtra State Minorities Commission, was presented to top police officers as well as eminent leaders for their contribution towards maintaining peace and harmony in society.

Atulchandra Kulkarni, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Deven Bharti, Additional CP (Mumbai), Bipin Kumar Singh, Special IG (Prisons), Laxmi Narayan, Joint CP Thane, Rubal Agrawal, Collector Jalgaon, Viresh Prabhu, SP Solapur, Jalinder Supekar, SP Jalgaon, Virendra Mishra, DCP Zone 10 Mumbai and others were presented the Mahatma Gandhi Shantata awards.
 

Well known literary and movie personality Nishigandha Wad, renowned physician A R Undre and noted social worker Mohib Ali Nasser were also felicitated by the Governor on the occasion.
