In his continuing effort to
promote the tourism places in the state, Arunachal Pradesh Governor J P Rajkhowa today visited the Gekar Sinyi Lake, 10 km from Itanagar.
The Governor termed the lake as a unique and special tourism site, a Raj Bhawan communique informed.

"The tourism, environment and forests and fishery department must come together for inclusive development of the place to increase tourist footfall," he said.
Rajkhowa stressed on preserving the forest cover around the lake area and suggested for more provisions, including restaurant and conference hall so that meetings and other official activities could be conducted at the site along with tourism activities, the communique informed.
An angling enthusiast himself, the governor advised for controlled angling as adventure sports. He also called for fish culture for commercial purposes and planting of bamboos in the area.
"Road connectivity will facilitate more flow of tourism to the site," he said.
