Former RSS ideologue K N Govindacharya today approached the Election Commission demanding action against BJP over its full-page advertisements in e-papers of various national dailies, saying it was a violation of the electoral law.
In a representation to the poll watchdog, he alleged that BJP is soliciting votes for today's elections in Delhi through e-papers which is barred under Section 126 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
To press his argument, he quoted clause B of Election Commission notification of October 25, 2013 which stipulates that "Instructions of the Commission contained in its order ...Shall also apply mutatis mutandis (necessary changes having been made) to websites and shall fall under the purview of pre-certification."
