Govt bans strike in all services in Singareni Collieries

The Telangana Government has banned strikes in all services under the disposal of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd for a period of six months.

According to an order issued last week, the government declared all services of the state-owned coal company as Essential services under the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1971.

"And whereas, the Government are satisfied that it is necessary and expedient to prohibit strikes in public interest, in any services in Singareni Collieries Company Limited for a further period of six (6) months," the order said.

Therefore, the government of Telangana hereby prohibits strikes in all the services for a period of six months with effect from September 11, it further said.
