Kerala High Court today directed the state government to formulate a concrete policy to revive the ailing Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), saying it cannot go on diverting more funds to the corporation.

'Government cannot go on diverting more funds to KSRTC at the cost of tax payers', Justice C K Abdul Rahim said while considering a batch of petitions by former employees claiming pensionary benefits.

The court had earlier directed Advocate General to suggest means to salvage the corporation.

Justice Rahim also directed the Transport Secretary to file affidavit narrating policy of government and actions formulated to bring out solutions and remedies for rehabilitation and posted the matter to August 21.

The KSRTC informed that they require Rs 37 crore a month for pension and it was running at a monthly loss of Rs 62 crore.
