Govt employee attempts suicide at a lake; rescued

A government employee, who attempted suicide by jumping into Hussain Sagar lake here apparently due to depression, was rescued today by Lake police police said.

C Kishore, Superintendent in Agriculture Department and resident of Malkajgiri area here, who is addicted to alcohol and took loans from several persons, went into depression due to these problems and tried to commit suicide by jumping into the lake, they said.

As soon as the Lake Patrol team noticed the victim jumping into the lake and two of the team members immediately jumped into the water and rescued him from drowning and brought him to Lake Police station, a City Police release said.
 

The Lake Police has saved as many as 51 lives so far during 2014, it said.
