Govt extends tenure of two sr police officers working with SPG

The tenure of two senior police officers -- Munna Prasad Gupta and Tsewang Namgyal Kalon-- working in Special protection Group (SPG), has been extended, according to an official order issued today.

Both the officers are at present posted as Inspector General in the SPG, responsible for closely monitoring the security arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former prime ministers and members of their immediate families in India and abroad.

Gupta's tenure has been extended from February 21, 2018, to September 15, 2019, the order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said. He is a 1995 batch IPS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre.
 

Kalon's tenure has been extended from January 4, 2018, to September 15, 2019, the order said. He belongs to Jammu and Kashmir cadre.
