The AAP government has initiated action against unknown persons who on January 9 unofficially 'inaugurated' the Mangolpuri-Mukarba Chowk road segment, the first section of Vikaspuri-Wazirabad elevated corridor project.

The section will be formally inaugurated on Sunday. PWD Minister Satyendar Jain said that a complaint has been filed against unknown persons for attempting to cause damage to life and property.

"If someone has a video clipping of the incident, the government will then name the persons in the complaint," Jain said.

On January 9, Delhi Congress leaders, along with a few residents, had forcibly opened the newly-constructed elevated road from Mukarba Chowk for traffic, alleging that its inauguration had been delayed as Aam Aadmi Party had no time for it and, thereby, caused inconvenience to the people.

The first section of Vikaspuri-Wazirabad elevated road, from Mangolpuri to Mukarba Chowk is one of the six sections of the project that aims to make the stretch on the arterial outer ring road signal free.
