In an attempt to make Jharkhand a favourite tourist destination, the state government has planned three-tier development of tourists spots to attract foreign as well as domestic tourists.

Formally inaugurating a hotel 'The Kannelite-Sakchi Vihar' at Sakchi here today, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said the state has immense potential for growth in the tourism sector.

The government has three-tier development plans to improve tourist destinations mainly to attract foreign tourists, which would also generate foreign currency, Das said while addressing a gathering.

"We will be developing tourist spots of national importance such as Baidyanath Dham at Deoghar, Rajrappa Temple in Ramgarh, Maa Tara temple and Parasnath in Santhal Pargana to attract tourists," he said adding the government would take up tourist destinations of state and district level in the second and third tier development plans.

Claiming that footfall of tourists from across the country have increased every year, he said Jharkhand has blessed with natural beauty, apart from having abundant mineral reserves.

"The state has potential for development of Eco-Tourism, Mining tourism and Cultural tourism" Das said while announcing that the state government would also develop Medical tourism in the state.

Promoting tourism would generate employment opportunities in the state, the Chief Minister said adding the government would soon develop a marine drive in Patratu.

Besides, the government has also chalked out a plan to set up a film city over 200 acres of land in Patratu in Ramgarh district, he said.

Das, who was accompanied by state tourism minister Amar Bauri, said the government has framed a tourism as well as film policy and also developed infrastructure within 15 months after the BJP-led government came to power in the state.

Appreciating the Kannelite Hotel, Bauri said it was developed on PPP mode between Kannelite and JTDC and would prove to be a landmark in the tourism sector.
