Govt honorarium for domestic servants serving for 55 years

Maharashtra government is going to give 'honorarium' to the domestic servants who have been working for fifty-five years or more.

There are around 2,13,000 workers registered with the 'Domestic Workers Development Board, out of which as many as 9,109 have been working for fifty-five years or more.

They would get an honorarium of Rs 10,000 each, Labour Minister Hasan Mushrif said in a statement here.

A programme has been organised in Pune on September 6, where the honorarium amounts would be distributed to some of them.

At other places, the labour commissioner would distribute the amounts.

The statement added that the domestic servants who are eligible should contact the labour commissioner's office in their respective districts.
