Union minister Thaawarchand Gehlot today expressed hope that the Disability Bill, passed by Rajya Sabha, will be cleared by Lok Sabha with co-operation from all parties in the remaining two days of the Winter Session, which has otherwise seen poor business due to repeated disruptions.
Speaking to reporters after the Rajya Sabha cleared the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill, 2014 -- which aims at securing and enhancing the rights and entitlements of disabled persons -- he said the government will try to present the Bill in the lower House tomorrow.
"We are now trying to present this Bill to Lok Sabha for its consideration. We hope all parties co-operate in Lok Sabha the way they did in Rajya Sabha today. We will try to present it to Lok Sabha tomorrow... We hope it gets cleared over the next two days," he told reporters on Parliament premises.

The Social Justice and Empowerment minister said once cleared, the Bill will ensure no disabled person is deprived of benefits of Centre or state's schemes meant for him/her.
The Bill stipulates two-year jail term and a maximum fine of Rs five lakh for discriminating against differently-abled persons.
It was passed by a voice vote after rare unanimity was witnessed among the Opposition and Treasury benches in the House, which has seen acrimony and disruptions since the session began on November 16.
