Government has already got six bills passed in both Houses of Parliament amid the din, but stressed it will not get any controversial legislation passed in such a way.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said some of the Bills that it will try to get passed include the Prevention of Money Laundering (Amendment) Bill, 2011, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) (Amendment) Bill, 2011, the Prevention of Bribery of Foreign Public Officials and Officials of Public International Organisations Bill, 2011.
Bansal said key banking and education bills which are pending for sometime are unlikely to be taken up as many members have reservations over various provisions in them.
The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore, Bill, 2010, which has already been passed in Rajya Sabha will now be put up in Lok Sabha for consideration and passing, besides the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) bill, 2012, which could not be passed today after being taken up.
The Rajya Sabha will also take up bills like the North Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Amendment Bill, 2011, and the Protection of Women Against Sexual Harassment at Workplace Bill, 2010, besides the National Highways Authority of India (Amendment) Bill, 2011, both of which was passed by Lok Sabha today.
Among the eight Bills pending in Parliament unlikely to be taken up in the current session include the Banking Laws (Amendment) bill, 2011, the Educational Tribunals Bill, 2010 (already passed by Lok Sabha), the National Accreditation Regulatory Authority for Higher Educational Institutions Bill, 2010, the Marriage Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2010.
