Govt mulling new health centres in JK: Minister

The Jammu and Kashmir government is actively considering the recommendations of a House Committee, which has suggested opening up of new health centres in the state.

Announcing this today in the Assembly, Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmed Khan said while opening new health centres due consideration will be given to inaccessible and far-flung areas.

He assured the House that there will be no disparity with any constituency in the allocation of funds under state Plan and NRHM for upgrading of health infrastructure.

He said work on Trauma Hospital Bijbehara has also been taken up and in the current fiscal, Rs 20 lakh are being incurred on the project.
