Buoyed by the response to the ongoing 'Hunar Haat' here, the Minority Affairs Ministry is mulling organising in other states the exhibition where artisans can showcase their art and skill.
"Around 20 lakh people, including foreign nationals, have visited the Haat until now since its launch on February 11. In the wake of the response to the Hunar Haat, aimed at promoting craftsmen of minority communities in international and domestic markets, the Ministry is now mulling organising such events in Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Patna, Guwahati and other places in near future," an official statement said.
Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Minister of State in PMO Jitender Singh also visited the Haat today.

Exquisite pieces of handicraft and handloom work like Makrana Marble products, Bandhej from Sikar, Mojri from Rajasthan, Telangana's Banjara embroidery, handmade locks, door handles along with Phool Patti works from Aligarh, Cocoon decorated products from Nagaland are being showcased there.
The haat also has a 'bawarchikhana' (kitchen) where the cuisines from different parts of the country, including Awadhi Mughlai food from Lucknow, Dal Bati Churma and Thali of Rajasthan, Kerala's Malabari food and Litti Chokha of Bihar are up for relishing.
The haat, to be held until February 26, is being organised through National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation under the Ministry's Upgrading the Skills and Training in Traditional Arts/Crafts for Development (USTAAD) scheme.
About 184 master artisans from 26 states and Union Territories had showcased their traditional art and skills at about 100 stalls at the first haat held at India International Trade Fair, Pragati Maidan between November 14 and November 27, last year.
