The government is not contemplating opening of any new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), the Lok Sabha was informed today.
Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Mahendra Nath Pandey made a statement in this regard when asked whether the government is aware that some states have sent proposals for setting up IITs, IIMs and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs).
"No Madam," said in a reply, addressing to Lok Sabha Speaker.
He added, "The government is not contemplating opening of any new Indian Institutes of IITs, IIITs and IIMs.
