Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh today advised state government officers to conduct themselves in a dignified and balanced manner.
He said this during his address in the state Assembly while answering the debate on the demand proposals for the third supplementary budget for the current fiscal 2016-17.
The government officers should maintain a "balanced" and "dignified" behaviour, the chief minister said, adding "stern action" would be taken against those who fail to do it.
There can be agreement-disagreement over some issues in the democracy but nobody can be given right to violate the decorum, he said.
Meanwhile, the demand proposals worth Rs 1,250 crore for third supplementary budget for the current fiscal year, was passed with voice vote in the House after discussion.
Earlier in the House after the Question Hour, Congress Legislative Party Leader T S Singhdeo had raised the issue of alleged misconduct by officers in the state.
While mentioning an alleged remark by Sukma district superintendent of police, Singhdeo had demanded action in the matter.
Briefing about the supplementary budget, the chief minister said with the third supplementary budget, the size of the state government's main budget for fiscal year 2016-17 has expanded to Rs 80,202 crore.
It is noteworthy that the main budget of this fiscal year earlier consisted provisions worth nearly Rs 73,996 crore. After the second supplementary of Rs 2,801 crore was passed, the budget size expanded to Rs 78,952 crore, he added.
The welfare of village, the poor and the farmers has been the priorities of the state government in every budget. In the supplementary budget also, necessary financial provisions have been made for them, Singh said.
