A Deputy Director of Madhya Pradesh Directorate of Public Relations was today booked for allegedly sexually harassing a woman, police said.

R S Meena sexually harassed the 35-year-old woman at a government office on the city outskirts on August 29 this year, Bhopal's women police station in-charge Inspector Sandhya Sharma told PTI.

The victim complained to police last week which was investigated by Additional Superintendent of Police Dilip Singh Tomar, she said.

The accused has been booked under IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 506 (criminal intimidation), she said.

However, when contacted for his comments, Meena said "the allegations against me are nonsense."

Police sources said the victim, who runs an NGO for mentally and physically challenged women, had come in contact with Meena at a function in Indore some months back.

According to the victim's complaint, Meena had assured her of facilitating government projects to her NGO.

S K Mishra, MP Public Relations Department Principal Secretary and PS to Chief Minister, said they will act in the case according to the book.
