Govt official booked for amassing disproportionate assets

Telangana's Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today unearthed disproportionate assets worth Rs 1.68 crore allegedly belonging to a senior official of Prohibition and Excise department here.

A case of disproportionate assets was registered against A Srinivasa Reddy, Assistant Commissioner of Distilleries in Prohibition and Excise and simultaneous searches were today conducted at his residence and at the residences of his relatives, an ACB release said.

During the searches, it is revealed that the Reddy acquired 15 acres of agriculture land, three independent houses and four house plots and other properties including gold, household articles and electronic gadgets in his name and in the names of his family members, it said.
 

The document value of the properties is around Rs 1.68 crore while the market value is approximately Rs 5.50 crore, the release added.

"Reddy is being arrested," it said.
