Govt official held for taking bribe of Rs 25,000

An Assistant Commissioner, working with the Prohibition and Excise department in Karimnagar district of Telangana, was arrested for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 25,000 from a complainant, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said today.

D Sivanaik was caught by ACB officials at his office last evening while accepting the bribe amount from the complainant for doing an official favour, an ACB release said here.

After recovery of the bribe amount, he was arrested and investigations are underway, it said.
