In a first of its kind, the Aam Aaadmi Party has planned to build an Innovative Vocational University in the national capital in order to make all youths employable in the city.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that government will ensure that youths get job after completing their vocational education in this university. The AAP government also wants to make Delhi an education hub and change the system "revolutionarily".
"In order to provide innovative skills and vocational programmes to our youths, I am planning to build Innovative Vocational University in Delhi," Sisodia said while addressing CII Delhi State Annual Session here.

"We have now just Delhi Engineering college, but we can not expand it further. For Arts subjects, we have only IP University, but the same situation also prevails with it. There is need to set up such Innovative University," he said.
According to the plan, certificate, diploma and graducation courses will be conducted in this university which would ensure to make youths employable.
"There is no concept of further education here, but we have to change the system. A person, who has left his education midway, can be able to take admission to this university and pursue a course.
"If he or she comes after sometime again, he will again be imparted vocational education and given diploma or certificate," he said.
Sisodia also said that government wants to make Delhi a knowledge hub. "We have to make efforts to achieve a target of 20 per cent growth rate and for that we have to do lot of work".
"There is need to think out of the box. Youths, who are between 18 and 25 years, want to do some innovations. There is also need to give some space to them.
"Government aims to make job creaters so that a chain of such persons can be built and then, more jobs will be created," he said.
