Claiming that the Uttarakhand government had been preparing to cancel the land leases given to people displaced by the Tehri dam, the opposition BJP today termed it "an act of treachery" to those who lost their homes due to the mega project.
BJP national secretary Trivendra Singh Rawat said the state government was mulling over the cancellation of land leases given to 224 families driven out by the construction of the dam.
Rawat went further and demanded a CBI enquiry into the telephonic conversations and correspondences allegedly exchanged between Congress leaders and Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna.
